DIET COUNSELING
We do more than treat teeth — we partner with families to shape children's diets in ways that prevent dental caries and support overall growth and development.
Our counselors teach practical, age‑appropriate nutritional habits that protect enamel while nourishing the whole child, emphasizing the importance of limiting frequent exposure to sugary and acidic foods and drinks—especially between meals—and replacing them with tooth‑friendly options like water, milk, plain yogurt, fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, and age‑appropriate nuts. Guidance includes timing snacks to coincide with meals, encouraging saliva‑stimulating foods that help neutralize acids, promoting consistent mealtime routines to reduce grazing, and educating caregivers on reading labels for hidden sugars and choosing healthier packaged snacks.
We focus on gradual, sustainable changes so children can adopt lifelong habits, and we reinforce diet counseling with daily toothbrushing with fluoride toothpaste, professional fluoride treatments when indicated, and routine dental visits to reduce caries risk, support immune and metabolic health, and build the foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating and smiling.
